Title: I'll Throw Away My Striped Tie
Pairing: Chris Pine/Karl Urban, Zachary Quinto/Zoe Saldana
Rating: PG
Summary: Just because a certain someone lured you into playing for the other team these days, that doesn't mean everything has to change. Or, Zach and Karl commiserate about their fashion-mad mates over a few games of eight-ball.
Length: 600 words
Notes: The not-entirely-breathlessly-awaited sequel to Some People Ain't Me (LJ | DW | AO3), set on the night of the Met Costume Ball, and inspired by the outfit Karl is wearing here and the outfits ZQ wears so often that you probably have them etched on your brain. Title from the song "All I Need Is the Girl."
NYC note: They're shooting pool at Bleecker Street Bar, eating pizza from the Two Boots down the street.

I thought you might want to get used to the lifestyle. )

Title: The Secret Life of Couches
Pairing: Star Trek RPF: Chris Pine/Karl Urban
Rating: PG-13
Summary: In America all happy endings include showing off the shit you bought. Or, "Chris and Karl open up their new home exclusively to In Style!"
Length: 600 words
Disclaimer: People sort of own themselves, don't they? Which means this is a work of fiction.
Notes: Written as a comment fic at [community profile] jim_and_bones. Fills the "fire in the fireplace" square on my [profile] schmoop_bingo card.

Karl's opinion is that if he never has to look at another swatch again he'll be a happy man )

Title: Some People Ain't Me
Pairing: Trek RPF: Chris/Karl, Zoe/Zach
Rating: PG
Summary: Wearing couture in front of some people is like casting pearls before swine, seriously. Chris and Zoe commiserate.
Length: 500 words.
Disclaimer: People sort of own themselves, don't they? Which means this is a work of fiction.
Notes: I wouldn't usually immediately post something I wrote in a comment, but it's just a little bit of silliness and is less Chris/Karl than Chris-Zoe friendship anyway.
Prompted by the reaction of some folks at [livejournal.com profile] jim_and_bones to Chris's ensemble at the recent Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (sponsored by Vogue, hosted by Anna Wintour, and a huge event in the fashion world). Chris attended as a guest of Ralph Lauren, as did Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel and Taylor Swift; Zoe was a guest of Calvin Klein. Posits that Zach and Karl were both in NYC as well that evening.
Title taken from the song "Some People" (from the musical Gypsy) written by Stephen Sondheim and Jule Styne.
For reference: Chris's Costume Gala tux (Ralph Lauren), Zoe's Costume Institute dress (Calvin Klein), Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel in Ralph Lauren at the Costume Institute Gala, and Zoe at the Oscars in Givenchy.

At least you take risks. You don't show up to red carpets like it's prom night. )
